Four Generations of American Craftsmanship

Founded in 1932 by Arthur L. Johnson, Hexacon Electric Company has earned a worldwide reputation for excellence in soldering equipment. The company name comes from the hexagonal-shaped iron case designed by our founder.

Who We Are

Hexacon Electric Company is a family-owned and operated manufacturer of soldering irons, soldering tips, soldering stations, and branding equipment. Located in Roselle Park, New Jersey, we've been designing and manufacturing quality soldering tools since 1932.

Now in our fourth generation of family ownership, we are proud of our tradition of creating quality products designed for durability with replaceable parts. Our end users' applications range from manufacturing MRI equipment to providing soldering tools for the space program.

Founded

Arthur L. Johnson founds Hexacon Electric Company, naming it after the hexagonal-shaped iron case he designed.

1940s

War Effort

Hexacon supports the American war effort, supplying soldering equipment for military electronics manufacturing.

1950s

Iron-Plated Tips

Hexacon develops the first long-life, iron-plated tip technology — an industry breakthrough.

1960s

Pencil-Style Iron

Introduction of the first industrial pencil-style soldering iron, setting a new standard for precision work.

1970s

Temperature Control

Hexacon introduces the first temperature-controlled soldering station for repeatable, high-quality joints.

1980s

Wave Soldering QC

Development of exclusive wave soldering quality control gauges and the first soldering analyzer for thermal profile engineering.
