Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about our products and services.
What wattage soldering iron do I need?
Wattage depends on your application. Light electronics work typically requires 20–60W (Super S series). General-purpose industrial soldering benefits from 90–150W (Heavy Duty series). Heavy industrial applications may need up to 800W.
What is the advantage of iron-plated tips?
Hexacon’s HT-Tips are plated with Iron and Nickel/Chrome for durability, corrosion resistance, and to prevent solder creep up the tip. They last significantly longer than bare copper tips while maintaining excellent thermal conductivity.
Can I get custom tips made?
Yes. Because Hexacon manufactures and plates tips in-house, we can offer custom tip services tailored to your specific application requirements.
How do I find replacement parts for my iron?
Every Hexacon iron is designed with independently replaceable parts — tips, elements, cords, and handles. Use our Replacement Parts Cross-Reference or contact us with your model number.
